Matthew Haugen
Matt (he/him) is a researcher focused on policy and planning for a worker-led transition towards a just and ecologically sustainable society. In particular, he has worked on projects analyzing transportation decarbonization, lithium extraction, and energy democracy, and he writes a newsletter called TERRAIN about climate and ecological politics. He has also worked on sustainable energy in local government and has extensive experience organizing and strategizing at the intersection of economic and environmental justice. He graduated from the University of Michigan with an MS in Environment and Sustainability, prior to which he was an accomplished professional poker player.
