Sara Nelson

Sara is a settler scholar who grew up on the ancestral territory of the Coast Miwok people in California, and currently lives and works on unceded Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh, and Squamish territories in Vancouver, BC. She holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Minnesota, and was previously a Fellow with the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. Her research examines the political economy of environmental management, social histories of conservation, and the labor dimensions of industrial and energy transitions. Her work is published in the journals Environmental Politics, Development and Change, Current Opinion in Environment and Sustainability, Progress in Human Geography, and others.
