Rithika (she/her) is the Communications Director at the Climate & Community Institute. She works with members, journalists, and allies to publish and publicize CCI’s world-building research and craft narrative strategy for climate and economic transformation. Prior to joining CCI, she was Economic Justice Editor at Nonprofit Quarterly. She writes on a wide range of topics including labor organizing, left movements, and literary and nonfiction engagements with social totality, and has work published in The Baffler, The Drift, Lux Magazine, Teen Vogue, and other academic and public venues. Rithika began her organizing journey with the Graduate Labor Organization (AFT 6516) at Brown University, where she negotiated the union’s first contract as the bargaining committee chair and subsequently served as the first elected president. She also helped found and chair Reclaim Rhode Island, an organization dedicated to building people power in the Ocean State. Rithika lives in New York City and holds a Ph.D in English Literature.
