Moira Birss
Moira is Deputy Director at Public Grids and a Senior Fellow with the Climate and Community Institute. Her work focuses on how financial and political systems affect communities dealing with climate change. Moira has over twenty years of climate, economic justice, human rights and social justice advocacy, research, campaigning, and on-the-ground experience. Moira has built and led corporate campaigns and policy advocacy strategies, and she has designed and conducted cutting-edge research. Her issue areas of expertise include climate financial regulation, home insurance, carbon markets, forest protection and deforestation, public policy in Latin America, and human rights defender protection. Moira holds a BA in Latin American Studies from the University of Michigan and an MA in International Relations from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.
