isaac sevier is the founder and Executive Director of Public Grids, a national organization empowering people to ensure that our utilities serve the public and planet, not shareholder profits. isaac is an energy engineer and policy advocate with experience addressing interlocked issues of race, class, gender, and climate vulnerability through policy and investment at utility, state, and federal levels. isaac’s history of contributing to climate justice movement capacity includes the design and launch of initiatives such as the People’s Utility Commons; Collectrify, a pooled philanthropic grant making fund for building electrification; the California Green New Deal coalition; and the Red, Black & Green New Deal initiative. They are a member of the progressive climate think tank, the Climate and Community Institute, and have served as a local commissioner overseeing community choice aggregation of clean energy resources and other municipal services for the City and County of San Francisco since 2024.
